Born in 1971 in the ochre city, Abderrahim Iqbi holds a degree in French language and literature. Passionate about visual arts and cinema, he also studied fine arts in Marrakech and began exhibiting his work in the early 1990s.<\/p>\n
After a long artistic hiatus, he resurfaced in 2003 in Italy, where audiences rediscovered a profoundly singular artist. Unclassifiable by nature, Iqbi refuses to anchor himself in any fixed style, allowing his imagination, spontaneity, and creative impulse to guide his work.<\/p>\n
His oeuvre, enigmatic and powerfully expressive, delves into the realms of the absurd and the tragic. Haunting gazes, distorted faces, tormented bodies, lifeless silhouettes, dramatic scenes, and nightmarish visions populate his canvases.
