  • : Morocco
    Born: 1945 in Casablanca

Brahim Sadouk, born in 1948 in Casablanca, was a Moroccan painter and multidisciplinary visual artist whose career unfolded between Morocco and Europe. He began his artistic studies at the École des Beaux-Arts of Casablanca from 1967 to 1970, before continuing his training in Paris, where he refined his technique and expanded his aesthetic vocabulary. His first solo exhibition took place in Casablanca in 1970, marking the beginning of a rich and dynamic artistic journey.

After settling in France, Sadouk developed a diverse body of work that embraced painting, collage, fresco, tapestry, watercolor, and oil on canvas. His practice draws heavily from Moroccan cultural motifs and traditions, which he reinterprets through geometric compositions and stylized forms. His visual language absorbs the spirit of urban and rural landscapes, transforming familiar elements into patterns charged with symbolism and rhythm.

Deeply rooted in Moroccan heritage, Brahim Sadouk’s art reflects a unique synthesis of popular culture, craft traditions, architecture, decorative motifs, and everyday life. Through his use of color, texture, and form, he reimagines these sources to create a personal aesthetic that bridges memory and modernity. His works evoke a sense of belonging and identity, offering a poetic interpretation of the environments and influences that shaped him.

Brahim Sadouk passed away in 2014, leaving behind an artistic legacy that continues to resonate. His oeuvre remains a vibrant testament to the richness of Moroccan culture and its capacity to inspire new visual languages across continents.
