EL FAHLI Khadija

Based in Rabat, where she lives and works, Khadija El Fahli is a self-taught Moroccan painter, as well as an academic and university lecturer. Drawing emerged very early as a space of freedom and expression, a passion born during her high school years in the early 1970s.

Between 2003 and 2006, she produced her first artworks, already revealing a singular and deeply inhabited artistic universe. Her first solo exhibition, held in 2012, marked the beginning of a rich artistic journey, punctuated by numerous exhibitions in Morocco and internationally, notably in Tunisia, France, and Spain. Her works are now part of many private collections around the world.

Her practice is characterized by a dense and narrative pictorial language. The canvas becomes a teeming space composed of multiple scenes and small chromatic units, evoking miniatures in constant dialogue. No area is left to chance.

Her paintings are fragments of memory, opening onto childhood, the past, the environment, and the contemporary world. Nourished by symbols drawn from Moroccan culture, her work develops a vision of humanity that is both intimate and universal. Vibrant and bold color brings forth light and connects figures to space and time, celebrating life in its fragility and beauty.
