BARKI Cheaib
- Morocco - Born : 1983 in Salé
Cheaib Barki is a Moroccan painter and graffiti artist whose career is marked by resilience and reinvention. After a childhood spent between Morocco and Amsterdam, shaped by social exclusion, he discovered painting in the early 2000s. Art then became a space of reconstruction and liberation for him.
Returning to Morocco in 2010, he made artistic creation his profession and gradually established himself on the national art scene. Nourished by street art and urban energy, his work captures movement, crowds, and symbols drawn from automotive and city culture.
His practice is distinguished by a vivid palette and the use of mixed techniques—spray paint and painting—applied to a variety of supports such as canvas, wood, license plates, and car bodywork. Balancing poetry and raw tension, his works narrate fragments of life, celebrating freedom, memory, and the vitality of the urban world.
