Morran BEN LAHCEN

Based in Salé, Morran Ben Lahcen is a self-taught Moroccan artist and one of the pioneers of graffiti and street art in Morocco. Passionate about drawing from an early age, he naturally found in graffiti culture his first field of expression, before gradually moving from the street to the studio.

He progressively turned toward new graphic experiments, developing a personal artistic language that is more abstract and introspective. His work questions the human condition, memory, time, and communication through a central reflection on space-time, structured by vertical and horizontal dimensions. The crossing of lines thus becomes his visual signature, symbolizing the inner tension between action and duration, body and mind.

Through this distinctive signature, Morran Ben Lahcen has established himself as a leading figure of the avant-garde of the contemporary Moroccan art scene. Driven by constant research, his practice explores a wide range of materials and supports, from canvas to sculpture, sometimes incorporating unexpected materials such as wool or horn.

Recognized for his ability to continually reinvent himself, he has collaborated with several brands and occupied prestigious spaces, notably in Casablanca. His career—marked by a transition from the street to a more intimate and demanding practice—bears witness to a singular, profound, and resolutely contemporary body of work.
